RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep
Conner Lamb (1G, 1A) scored 1:53 in, Easton Pitz (1G, 1A) added another 43 seconds later and Cohen Hlady (1G, 1A) tallied his second of the year 10 minutes later as RHA Winnipeg stormed out of the gate with a three goal first period. Ashton Dutkewich added a power play marker 3:13 into the second as RHA Winnipeg held a commanding 4-0 lead. Bastian Lamarche countered 3:16 later with a power play goal of his own and Brock Vodeen (2G) brought Pilot Mound within two midway through the game. However, Brady Filmon (1G, 1A) scored what turned out to be the game winning goal just 21 seconds later. Vodden gave Pilot Mound life 25 seconds into the third and Matteo Grieco’s (1G, 1A) first of the season less than five minutes later made it a one goal game. Noah Hawkins (31/35) would make 19 third period saves to hold off the Pilot Mound push and give his team the 5-4 win.
Bourget College (2) vs Bishop’s College School (6) East U17
Jan Vladar (1G, 2A) and Mavrik Legault (1G, 1A) scored 1:04 apart in the first to put Bishop’s ahead 2-0 after 20. Xavier Cormier (1G, 2A) scored 23 seconds into the second before Nate Ostridge (3G) scored his first and second goals of the season as Bishop’s took control of the game. Justin Lavoie would get Bourget on the board late in the second and Mason Tanguay added another for his team late in the third to close the gap but Ostridge completed the hat-trick to round out the scoring and Tyler Fuicelli (34/36) finished with 34 saves.
St. Mary’s High School (0) vs STAR Hockey Academy (10) U15 Prep
Erik Sims (18/18) recorded his first shutout of the season early Friday morning, backing STAR to a relaxing win. Daniel Makovetskiy (4G, 1A) recorded the game’s first two goals and would go on to finish with four goals and five points.Graham Gerritz (2G) would also snag a pair of goals while Blaise Weibye (3A) and Deacon Wilson (1G, 2A) each posted three point efforts. With his four goal effort, Makovetskiy hit the 50 goal mark in his CSSHL career.
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (5) vs Shawnigan Lake School (2) U15 Prep
Pilot Mound ignited their showcase off with a bang, establishing immediate control with two goals in the first three minutes of play. Matteo Grieco and Maddox Ramage (3G) were behind PMHA’s two tallies. Ramage would bury another on the powerplay in the second with only 11-seconds to spare in the frame. Shawnigan would show some push back in the third as Bryce Todd and Hayden Slade scored just over a minute apart to make things a one goal game. However, nothing else was getting past Buffaloe’s goalie Yuki Kido (37/39) stopping 15/17 shots in the final period of play. Ramage would complete his hat-trick and Cole Landreville (1G, 1A) would net the insurance marker.
Notre Dame (0) vs BWC Academy (6) U15 Prep
A Logan Henry (3G) hat-trick and a Bentley Edgar (13/13) shutout were the key elements to BWC Academy’s opening victory in Winnipeg Friday morning. Henry, The Prince George, BC native nabbed his second hat-trick of the season with two powerplay goals to his name. Kane Nicholas (1G, 1A) also supplied a shorthanded goal as BWC Academy’s special teams were working overtime vs Notre Dame.
Ontario Hockey Academy (8) vs King’s Edgehill School (0) East U18
Starting off strong with a three goal first period, OHA found themselves in a comfortable position right off the get go. They would manage to run away with this one, scoring eight along with two shorthanded markers to close off the contest. Jeremy St. Louis (2G, 1A) led the charge with two goals and an assist while Budapest, HU born goaltender Oliver Kiraly (33/33) made 33-saves in goal, collecting his first shutout of the campaign in OHA’s commanding victory over King’s Edgehill.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (7) U15 Prep
A pair of goals from Yale’s Matthew Zaitchikov and Tony Cabelka were only separated by a mere 49-seconds, creating a two goal advantage heading into the second. Matteo Zenone (1G, 2A) would add another for Yale just 33-seconds into the frame. The Lions would pour another four goals into the back of the net to ensure the victory. Ashton Dukewitch would get the lone goal past Mason Sutherland (25/26) for RHA Winnipeg.
OHA Edmonton (9) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U15 Prep
As apples reach the end of their harvesting season, Sherwood Park, AB’s Chayse Fedoriuk (5A) has had no issue dishing some out, cashing in on five of OHA Edmonton’s nine goals over RHA Kelowna. On the goal scoring side of the scoresheet, Artello Forestal (2G, 1A) and Kael Scott (2G) each supplied a pair. In goal, Owen Amyotte (32/34) turned aside 32-shots in the Friday win for OHA Edmonton.
Indigenous Sports Academy (0) vs Edge School (12) U18 Prep
A six point outing from Keegan de Sa (3G, 3A) commanded the scoresheet in a 12-0 win for Edge over ISA. Luke Jamieson (2G, 3A) would also light the lamp for five points while Kamloops Blazers’ prospect Joaquin Geras (2G, 2A), Reed Reschny (1G, 3A) and Dallin Antos (4A) all hit the four point barrier. Ryley Budd (8/8) made eight saves in the shutout performance.
OHA Edmonton (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) U15
After a scoreless first, NAX would tear up the fresh ice, scoring four times in the opening eight minutes of play. Ian Kim pumped some life back into OHA Edmonton on the powerplay near the end of the frame while Kane Strudwick cut the deficit to two in the third, but NAX’s offence was able to pot another two in the latter half of the third, sealing up their win. Emmett Abel (1G, 3A) nabbed his third four point outing of the season while Jett Evans (2G) supplied a pair of his own, each being the game winner and the insurance marker. Grayson Scriba (22/24) was in goal for NAX, picking up the win to ignite their weekend.
Ulysse Academie (6) vs King Heights Academy (2) East U18
Things were looking up for King Height’s after Zakhar Puzriakov (1G, 1A) cut the deficit down to one early in the second. However, Ulysse would cash in another four unanswered goals to close out the second, including a pair from Mascouche, QC’s Phillipe Lepore (2G). Roman Morillas (1G, 1A) would net one more for King Height’s in the third but couldn’t muster a comeback effort. Virgil Sausset would go on to pick up the win in goal for Ulysse.
Delta Hockey Academy (4) vs North Shore Warriors (5) U18 Prep
North Shore started this game off jumping with two goals in the first three minutes thanks to the efforts of Matteo Paradiso (2G) and Tristan Hoko (2G). However, Delta’s special teams came to play later in the frame as Alexander Laing and Otto Spofforth chipped in with a powerplay goal a piece. Delta’s offensive stride would carry into the second as Milan Mrsic (1G, 1A) and Nathaniel Danielson extended their lead to two. In a tense third, NSW would apply pressure early after Paradiso found the back of the net early on. Hoko would bury another just under three minutes later for NSW, tying this match up at 4-4. Still pressing hard, NSW would be granted a powerplay opportunity late. Liam McCloy would spot Dominec Seminoff for the one timer, where he’d make no mistake and give NSW their first lead since the late stages of the first. North Shore would skate off with the comeback win. Georgi Milanov (26/30) would stop all 7-shots from Delta in the third.
Shawnigan Lake School (3) vs BWC Academy (2) U18 Prep
Shawnigan ran into its share of struggles through forty, surrendering a powerplay goal and failing to capitalise on the few offensive chances generated. However, with the goaltending prowess of Will Stonehouse (48/50), there was still a chance in the third. Easton Sangris (2G, 1A) quickly nabbed two goals back for Shawnigan in the third, evening things up at 2-2. Then with six minutes left on the clock, Thierry Demers (1G, 2A) would net the go ahead goal, giving Shawnigan their first lead of the match. Stonehouse would hold on and make an extra 11 stops in the third, which included a last effort powerplay from BWC Academy. Stonehouse amassed a tremendous 48-saves in the comeback victory with Sangris and Demers each chipping in on each of Shawnigan’s three goals.
Yale Hockey Academy (3) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep
Yale held the favour in shots through two but would find themselves tied with Wenatchee through forty minutes after Geon Park found twine for Wenatchee in the second. Wenatchee would come alive in the third, piling on 15-shots in the third alone to the 16 they had through two. However, Nathan Kam (30/31) remained diligent and turned aside each of the Wild’s chances in a busy third. Late in the frame, Saskatoon Blades prospect Matthew Dowdall (1G, 1A) would net the eventual game winner off a feed from Jayden Oleskiw (2A) narrowly edging out a hungry Wenatchee squad. Nathaniel Madrigal (52/54) gave his Wild a chance, making an astounding 52-saves in the losing effort.
Notre Dame (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) U18 Prep
Only one RHA Winnipeg skater missed out on the scoresheet in RHA Winnipeg’s Friday matchup with Notre Dame. RHA Winnipeg would collect two bunches of four in the first and third periods en route to the victory. Anthony Bedard (1G, 2A) and Carter Haney (1G, 2A) led the way with three point performances while Nolan Giles (15/15) made 15-stops for his first shutout in an RHAW uniform.
Delta Hockey Academy (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U15 Prep
An early pair from NAX’s Brady Ondrus (2G) and Will Kelts set the Xtreme off on the right path. The scoring would pause in the second but resume in the third as Teagen Bouchard (1G, 1A) netted his seventh of the campaign. Dawson Sheehan (22/23) would have his shutout spoiled by Delta’s Ryker Doka, but would go on to pick up an assist on Ondrus’s empty netter to seal up the victory.
Edge School (5) vs St. George’s School (3) U15 Prep
Drew Wilkinson scored 5:38 in to give Edge a 1-0 lead. Tarik Lammam tied the game just 23 seconds later before Noah Fowler (1G, 1A) and Holden Wouters (1G, 1A) scored 33 seconds apart less than three minutes later as St. George’s grabbed a 3-1 advantage. The 3-1 lead would hold through the entire second period and into the third when Jayden Maschke (1G, 3A) scored 6:03 into the third to bring Edge within one. Nicholas Edgar (1G, 1A) tied the game 3:39 later with his first goal of the season and Luke Huska and Keagan Grant scored 43 seconds apart as Edge turned a 3-1 deficit into a 5-3 win in a span of 7:22. Delano Pockar (18/21) and Kole Anderosov (35/40) were in net for their respective teams.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U17 Prep
After a scoreless first Holden Duggan and Francesco Ruffolo (2G) scored 49 seconds apart to give Pacific Coast a 2-0 lead. Lucas Lekakis would get North Shore on the board midway through the period but Haydyn Brooks quickly countered for PCHA 58 seconds later. The third belonged to PCHA as Brayden Howe (1G, 1A), Kody Pham (1G, 1A) and Ruffolo all scored in the final 20.
St. Mary’s High School (3/OT) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U15 Prep
Aidan James and Kyan Katz (1G, 1A) scored first period goals as St. Mary’s led 2-0 after 20. Riley Taylor and Ethan Mah countered with second period goals of their own before a scoreless third period led to overtime. In OT Laird Spaulding (1G, 1A) found the back of the net 2:49 in to give St. Mary’s the 3-2 win in their second game of the day. Nolan Nilsson (37/39) and Ashton Sims (21/24) were in net for their respective teams.
Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep
William Picklyk (3G, 1A) scored twice in the first including 40 seconds in to give Pilot Mound the 2-0 lead going into the second. Grant Giliege would start the second with a power play goal and a short handed goal by Asher Watson 2:40 later tied the game. Picklyk would complete the hat-trick with a power play goal midway through the period before Noah Kelly equaled the score. Rylan Emigh and Griffin Horne scored power play goals 1:25 apart to put Prairie ahead for the first time midway through the third. Riley Robert scored a power play goal 2:29 later but Michah Davidson (22/26) finished with 22 saves to secure the Prairie 5-4 win. Tait Sanchez (45/50) made 45 saves in the loss.
Notre Dame vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U17
All of the scoring happened in the first period with Elijah Rempel scoring 45 seconds in. Murphy Johnston added another 42 seconds later before Reese Scott (1G, 1A) scored on the power play and Oliver Campbell found the back of the net a few minutes later. Luke White would get Notre Dame on the board 2:41 later but that would be the last goal of the game as Grayson McDonald (27/28) and Nathan Thompson (37/41) kept clean sheets through the final 40.
Calgary International Hockey Academy (2) vs OHA Edmonton (3/SO) U18 Prep
Callum MacLean and Gabriel Iervella traded goals 35 seconds apart as the first period ended tied 1-1. Oliver Kramp gave CIHA the lead 1:32 into the second with the lone goal of the period. Calum Giese’s sixth goal of the season midway through the third tied the game and forced overtime. After OT solved nothing, Giese and Nolan Schmidt both beat Cole Prelusky (24/26) and Parker Snell (60/62) stopped two of the three CIHA shooters as OHA Edmonton earned a 3-2 win.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (9) vs Shawnigan Lake School (0) U17 Prep
A 16 save shutout performance from Linden Sobocan (16/16) gave OHA a 9-0 win over Shawnigan Lake. Luke Assi (2G, 1A) and Trey Tourigny (2G) each scored twice while Marcus Domhof (1G, 3A) led all skaters with four points. Defenseman Kolton Denich (3A) chipped in with three assists in the win.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) U15
OHA led 1-0 after 20 as Marcus Lloyd scored a power play goal 1:27 into the hockey game. Callan McCall tied the game just 10 seconds into the middle frame before OHA scored three straight to close out the period with Hudson Wicharuk (1G, 1A), Owen Magness (1G, 1A) and Lux Naka all beating Jace Zemanek (34/39). Caden Sugiyama halted the run 3:06 into the third but Nathan Tan and Jace Williams scored 1:17 apart late in the period to put the game out of reach. Deakon Beaudry (28/30) made 28 saves to give OHA (1-5-0) their first win of the season, and keep PCHA winless (0-6-0) on the season.
Delta Hockey Academy (2) vs BWC Academy (1) U17 Prep
After a scoreless first period Declan Iacoviello gave BWC Academy the lead 5:31 into the second despite trailing by a wide margin in the shot totals category. Kishan Saggu (1G, 1A) tied the game midway through the second with a power play goal before another power play goal, this time by Wyatt Callander, put Delta ahead with three seconds left in the middle frame. Matthew Wong (19/20) would stop all nine third period shots he faced as Delta hung on for the 2-1 win. Despite the loss Jeevin Sandhu (64/66) made 64 saves in net for BWC Academy.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (8) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (1) U17
Maximilian Koppel (3G, 1A) and Griffin Hoy (2G, 1A) paced the RHA Kelowna offence in an 8-1 win over CDA. Mason Alexander (1G, 1A), Aiden Andrews and Tate Serfas (1G, 1A) scored the other RHA Kelowna goals in the win. Michael Veneziano scored the lone CDA goal to end the William Stewart (17/18) shutout bid in the second period.
Delta Hockey Academy (5) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) U17
Despite being outshot 61-38 it was Delta who came out on top 5-4 Friday night over Pacific Coast. Neither team scored in the opening 20 before Kantawit Tiaowvanich (1G, 1A) and Ewan Torrance (2G, 1A) scored 1:24 apart early in the second to put Delta ahead. Torrance scored again five minutes later but Hagan Purinton quickly responded just eight seconds later for PCHA. Lukas Needham (1G, 2A) and Logan Pankhurst traded first half third period goals before Kaelen Rusjan (1G, 1A) and Owen Hyde (1G, 1A) scored 2:02 apart to tie the game. The deadlock wouldn’t last long as Akash Raj scored the game winning goal with 3:34 left to play to restore the Delta lead and put them ahead for good. Lynden Mercier (57/61) made 57 saves in net for the win.
