Edge School (4) vs Yale Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep
With 12 seconds left in the first Mirco Dufour gave Edge the 1-0 lead with his seventh of the season. Keegan De Sa extended the lead with a power play marker 7:21 into the second. Ryker Swanson got Yale on the board 4:21 later as he beat Leif Oaten (37/38) for his second goal of the season. Ethan Elefante and Luke Jamieson added third period goals as Edge pulled away for the 4-1 win. Parker Kulmatycki (45/49) made 45 saves in the loss.
Indigenous Sports Academy (1) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep
ISA led 1-0 after the first as Bryden Cochrane scored his first goal of the season with 4:09 left in the period. Fischer Nicolet finally broke through for Wenatchee midway through the first to kick-start a comeback that saw Wenatchee score four unanswered. Geon Park (1G, 1A) and Bode Drew (1G, 2A) each found the back of the net in the second while Gregor Ermellini added a late third period power play tally to round out the scoring. Anthony Ganoung (44/445) and Ethan Lewis (38/42) were in net for their respective teams.
Notre Dame (2) vs Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) U15
Kelson Hawreluik (2G, 1A) opened the scoring with a shot lower blocker on a partial break, his sixth goal of the season. Brett Bochek tied the game late in the first before Eli Wasylyk restored the lead in the second. Hawreluik doubled the advantage early in the third but Jax Baumuller quickly responded for Notre Dame. That was as close as they would get though as Ryder Olford’s 11th goal of the season with 1:47 remaining secured the 4-2 RHA Winnipeg victory.
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (7) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep
Gavin Smith scored the lone first period goal and Eli Fareria (1G, 2A) doubled the CDA lead 2:09 into the second period. Pilot Mound would erupt for four in the second and five unanswered as Jaden Mah (2G, 1A), Michael Tracy and Riley Robert scored once while Asher Gingras (3G) scored twice.Michael Khudyakov replied for CDA 27 seconds after the second Gingras goal, but Gingras quickly scored again for PMHA to complete the hat-trick. Carter Kipp (1G, 1A) and Owen Bambrick (1G, 1A) scored 2:32 apart as CDA refused to go away quietly and clawed within one. But Mah would score just 21 seconds later to put the game to bed as PMHA held on for the 7-5 win.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy White (6) U15
Delta White started the game by rattling off four straight as Hayden Zygarliski and Ryezen Bertsch scored once and Jayden Ni (2G, 1A) added back-to-back goals of his own. Jacob Gillie (1G, 1A) got Pacific Coast on the board 39 seconds later with his fifth of the season. Carson Brown (1G, 1A) added his 14th of the year 1:15 into the third as Delta White was back up by four. Caden Sugiyama and Baen Kernan scored 35 seconds apart as PCHA gave Delta White a late scare, but ultimately the game ended 6-3 in favour of the home team.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U18 Prep
Brady Whitehead scored his fourth goal of the season 7:56 into the game as NAX led 1-0 after 20. Gavin Harrison and Mason Koponyas (1G, 2A) each scored their fourth goal of the season 23 seconds apart as NAX grabbed a 3-0 advantage less than two minutes into the second. Aidan Fisher got RHA Kelowna on the board late in the second and a Brady Walker power play goal with 3:18 remaining got his team within one late. But Easton Doran (1G, 1A) scored an empty net goal with one second remaining as NAX doubled up RHA Kelowna 4-2.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) vs OHA Edmonton (8) U15
RHA Kelowna completed the first period trifecta as Logan Zezel scored on the power play, Dexter Labrecque on the penalty kill, and Harrison Sharman even strength as they led 3-2 after 20. OHA Edmonton would score three straight to start the second with Jaxson Weisgerber (3G) scoring back-to-back to complete the hat-trick and Ian Kim adding his 10th of the season. Reed Witham halted the run as it was a 5-4 OHA Edmonton lead after 40. Eli Swift (2G), Matteo Gambetti (1G, 1A) and Peyten Shilton all found the back of the net in the third as OHA Edmonton scored five goals in the final 40 as part of an 8-4 win.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U18 Prep
The SAHA power play was the difference Saturday as the unit went 4-for-9, including starting the game with goals from Avery Watson (1G, 1A) and Ty Hynes (2G). Vladislav Ibragimov got North Shore on the board a few minutes later before Cole Fisher added another SAHA power play goal. Noah Friskie would respond for North Shore less than two minutes later as it was a one goal game heading into the third. Hynes would double the lead midway through the final period and Josiah Jackson added the fourth SAHA power play marker with 1:56 remaining. Mattias Radke (27/29) made 27 saves for the win.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Yale Hockey Academy (0) U17 Prep
After a scoreless first period Treytin Frizzell (1G, 1A) opened the scoring 1:33 into the second when he beat Carson Lang (43/46) on a penalty shot. Brayden Howe and Phoenix Moyer-Isram added goals 54 seconds apart as PCHA grabbed a 3-0 lead. Ander Reyes (34/34) continued his perfect play in the third and finished with 34 saves to earn his third shutout of the 2024/25 season.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (9) vs OHA Edmonton (3) U17 Prep
Despite having fewer wins on the season, sixth ranked SAHA (4-5-0) proved why they were the higher ranked team with a 9-3 win over ninth ranked OHA Edmonton (7-4-0). SAHA came flying out the gate as Matthew Cameron-Skidmore (2G), Brennan Finke (1G, 1A), Kutcher Aquila (2G) and Carson Ward (2G, 1A) all scored in the first. Liam Green (1G, 1A) added another SAHA goal 2:11 into the second as they had total control of the game. Evan Dowling and Jevyn Singh Gill gave OHA Edmonton life as they cut the deficit to three heading into the third. Ward and Brebant traded goals to start the third before SAHA ran away with it as Cameron-Skidmore, Rhyder Arnold and Aquila all found the back of the net in a span of 1:31. Remy Martins (34/37) made 34 saves for the win.
Prairie Hockey Academy (3) vs Notre Dame (4) U17 Prep
Thomas Ma scored the lone first period goal as Notre Dame led 1-0 after 20. Seamus Dillon (1G, 1A) tied the game just 1:12 into the second period. Shyloh Benko (1G, 1A) scored exactly two minutes later on the power play to restore the lead. The Prairie special teams would get its revenge as Luke Pratte once again levelled the score with a shorthanded marker late in the period. Thomas MacPhee (2G) and Bryden Wagner traded goals to start the third period as it remained a tight game. MacPhee would score the game winning goal on the power play for Notre Dame with 4:04 remaining. Jessy Cormier (50/53) and Drake Mooney (23/27) were in net for their respective teams.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep
Ben Hakes (20/21) and Nolan Giles (26/29) were perfect through the first 20 as the game remained tied heading into the second. Ben Dnes would provide the games first goal 32 seconds into the middle frame. Ethan Makokis replied for OHA with a power play marker before Jacob Leamy, Soren Brons-Douville and Jackson Roberts (1G, 1A) all scored in the third period as OHA overcame the 1-0 deficit to earn a 4-1 win.
Calgary International Hockey Academy (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep
Mason Moran (1G, 1A) and Declan Cardiff (1G, 1A) scored less than two minutes apart as CIHA grabbed a 2-0 lead less than 10 minutes in. Logan Penston (2G, 1A) added to the lead late in the first and again early in the second. Jack Perrier got Pilot Mound on the board late in the first and Collin Friedrich scored 1:16 into the third as Pilot Mound had cut the lead in half. Ethan Mulvale responded for CIHA just a few minutes later to secure the victory for his team. Braxton Gibson (24/26) recorded the win and Barrett Hayes (44/49) was charged with the loss.
Notre Dame (0) vs Delta Hockey Academy (11) U18 Prep
Delta fired 80 shots at the Notre Dame net, scoring 11 times to earn the lopsided win. Nathaniel Danielson (2G, 1A), Milan Mrsic (2G, 1A) and Otto Spofforth (2G) all scored twice while Alexander Laing (1G, 3A) and defenseman Liron Pellizzari (4A) each had four points in the win. Defenseman Nate Barclay (3A) chipped in with three assists and Ashton Thornton (32/32) made 32 saves for the shutout.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) Female U18 Prep
SAHA scored five straight goals to take a dominant 5-1 win over NAX. Teagan Torgerson opened the scoring with the lone first period goal, her first of the season. Kailey Karpan added her first of the year 10:25 into the second period before defenseman Marley Howes (1G, 2A) tallied a power play marker 1:22 later. Defenseman Sophie Erlam (1G, 2A) added another power play goal just 59 seconds after that while Teylor Crocker (1G, 1A) scored a power play goal 38 seconds into the third. Kaitlyn Senkoe would break the Phoenix Buckler (24/25) shutout bid 1:02 later, but NAX was unable to generate any more offence.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (12) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep
Seven OHA skaters finished Saturday’s matchup against Wenatchee with multi-point efforts. Diezyl Hehr (2G, 2A) led the charge with a four point performance while Luke Niedermayer (1G, 2A) and Olliver D’Amore (3A) notched three point nights. Linden Sobocan (21/23) backstopped OHA in the commanding victory.
Okanagan Hockey Ontario (0) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (7) U18 Prep
CIHA was all over the scoresheet after the initial puck drop, racking up four unanswered goals in the opening twenty, capped off by a powerplay marker from Cochrane, AB native Benett Kelly. Jack Coghlan would add another in the second while Cage Smith (1G, 1A) and Townes Kozicky (1G, 2A) polished off an extra two in the final frame. Sartaj Dhami (22/22) stopped all 22 OHO shots, collecting his second shutout of the 2024/25 campaign.
Lower Canada College (9) vs Mount Academy (1) East U17
LCC was wheeling and dealing the puck all evening against Mount Academy, registering a staggering 74-shots on goal through sixty. Lukas Royko (3G, 1A) was atop of the scoresheet, picking up a hat-trick along with a four point performance while Mario Lapenna (2G, 1A) and Antonio Lombardo (3A) provided three points each in LCC’s victory. Alessandro Sforza (17/18) was in goal for the win, only being beaten once by Daniel Li early in the second.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) U15
A four goal spell from CIHA in the first would ultimately hand them the victory. Eric Sexton (1G, 1A) got things started off halfway through the first for CIHA and was quickly followed up by Liam Nycholat (1G, 1A), picking up his 11th of the season. Jase Morey and Sexton would once again pick up another quick pair, increasing CIHA’s lead to four by the end of the frame. OHA would go on to outshoot CIHA for the remainder of the contest, but other than Cruz Rasmussen’s second period tally, OHA was stifled by Taylor Green (29/30). Green would go on to make 29-stops in this Saturday matchup, playing a key role in CIHA’s victory throughout the final two periods.
OHA Edmonton (2) vs BWC Academy (3/SO) U18 Prep
Calgary Hitmen prospect Jonathan Bitonti (2G) would open the scoring late in the first with a wrist shot off the rush. Into the second, the low scoring trend continued as Kaden Wilkins (1G, 1A) picked up the lone goal of the frame to put OHA Edmonton on the board. Things would remain docile in the third until OHA Edmonton would make a late strike shorthanded. Ben Shaw would put away a feed from Wilkins to establish the late lead. With the goalie pulled, BWC Academy was pouring on all that they could and would eventually be rewarded. Bitonti would tie things up with 48-seconds left off a steaming one-timer from the left circle. Overtime would see its fair share of chances, but none more dangerous than Kadyn O’Brien’s. However, Parker Snell (34/36) stood tall and comfortably steered aside O’Brien’s partial breakaway. A shootout was eventually needed and Calum Giese applied the early pressure after selling a kick fake before roofing one backhand over Adler Ames (35/37). Bitonti would miss BWC Academy’s first chance but their next two shooters Gianni Bosa and Lukas Lima would make no mistakes, securing BWC Academy’s victory after tying things late in the third.
Delta Hockey Academy Black (4) vs STAR Hockey Academy (5/SO) U15
Delta Black would set the tone for the first portion of this contest, going up 2-0 after Cash Field (2G) extended their lead in the second. However, STAR wouldn’t count themselves out, scoring twice in quick succession. Delta Black’s Kevin Goodale (1G, 1A) would restore the lead later in the frame but would be immediately answered by STAR’s Camden Freeman (2G, 1A). Into the third, Field would put Delta Black back in front with a jam play in front. Delta Black would hold on to this lead into the late stages of the game, but a late five hole cram from Olan Ward would force overtime. In overtime, STAR was hemmed in their own zone, kept alive by the stellar goaltending of Cameron Rusyniak (52/56). Rusyniak’s efforts helped give STAR another chance in the shootout, which would go on to see seven rounds of shooters. In the final frame, Rusyniak would stone Taegeon Park on the backhand setting up a game winning opportunity for Brayden Bardwell. Bardwell would beat Brayden Allan (21/25) fivehole, completing the comeback and the upset victory for STAR Hockey Academy.
Prairie Hockey Academy (2) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep
In today’s CSSHL Featured Game, Prairie would take the early lead thanks to an individual effort from Noah Kelly off a hard forecheck and a prettier finish. PHA would carry this lead into the second but would face some adversity as Trace Anderson (1G, 2A) would wire home a powerplay marker four minutes into play. Shortly after, PCHA’s Ben Wetterberg (3G, 1A) would rip one past Cameron Beisal (47/51) to put the Sea Devils ahead. Wetterberg would go on to add yet another one for PCHA, giving them a 3-1. Kelly would get a penalty shot opportunity at the end of the second but would not fool Sam Saskiw (41/43). Into the third, Reid Fraser would make things a one goal game at the halfway point of the frame, but once again, Wetterberg would provide another goal for PCHA, completing his hat-trick and a four-point effort as PCHA would hold on for the win.
Edge School (7) vs OHA Edmonton (1) Female U18 Prep
Ryann Chimera was able to grant OHA Edmonton the opening goal of the contest, enough to give them the lead into the second. However, Edge School would find their groove in the second. Ignited by Samantha Baker (2G, 2A), Edge would go on to score three unanswered in the second and another four in the third, ultimately capping off a 7-1 victory. Along with Baker, Abby Lee (4A) chipped in for four points. Jenna Ring (23/24) made 23-saves in the victory for Edge.
Mount Academy (2) vs Bishop’s College School (6) East U18
Bishop’s College School had a knack for scoring highlight reel goals in their Saturday matchup with Mount Academy, starting off with a back and forth passing play between Milan Turena and Tomas Sedlacik. BCS would build on to a 3-0 lead at this point before Tristan Gagnon (2G) hit the brakes before wiring home the Bears’ fourth of the evening. Into the third, Gavin Rusenstrom would spot Zach Jockers with a behind the back pass before Jockers would rifle one past the blocker hand of William Talbot (56/62). Mount’s Cohen Paul and Bryson Robinson would snag a quick pair, but Gagnon would score an empty netter late to seal up BCS’s win.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3) vs St. George’s School (4/SO) U17 Prep
It was all CDA to start off Saturday’s evening affair. Preston Dalebout (1G, 1A) would go end-to-end before roofing one shortside to open the scoring. Moments after Dalebout’s highlight reel marker, Quinton Wade would score off a deflection in front to double CDA’s lead. Chase Pouchnik would add another to CDA’s lead before the end of the frame. St. George’s would struggle to find the back of the net in the early stages of the second. It wasn’t until Byron Chin (2G) scored with under five minutes to go, giving the Saints some hope heading into the dressing room. Early in the third, Holden Tuttle (1G, 1A) would cut the deficit to one. Shortly after, Chin would bury his second, tying the game up at three a piece and forcing overtime and an eventual shootout. The first five shooters couldn’t find twine, leaving Aaron Castro with a chance to end things all in the third round, where he would go on to make no mistake, capping off St. George’s comeback after a lacklustre first period. Carter Adams (47/50) played a big role in net for the Saints, making 47-saves including 30 through the final forty-five minutes of play.
STAR Hockey Academy (7/OT) vs BWC Academy (6) U15 Prep
A pair of early goals, including a shorthanded beauty from Justin Moon, gave BWC Academy the go ahead lead in the first. However, a powerplay goal from Ronin Brunner (1G, 1A) would put STAR on the board shortly after Moon’s tally. Come the second, STAR would build off of what they started late in the first, scoring three unanswered to build a 4-2 lead heading late into the frame. Kenzo Gibson (2G) gave BWC Academy some life with another shorthanded goal off a takeaway in the defensive end. Dylan Gale would revive STAR’s two goal lead early in the third, but BWC Academy remained persistent, scoring two in quick succession to make this game even once again. With under four minutes to go, Lincoln Angst would give STAR the go ahead goal but once again BWC Academy would quickly respond with Gibson coming to the rescue on a jam play in close quarters around Erik Sims’s (35/41) cage. In overtime, BWC Academy would see one quality chance on a 2-on-1 but Sims would stick out the right pad just in time to give STAR another chance. Play would continue the other way and Braxton Baker (2G) would demonstrate his wicked release, firing one past Bentley Edgar’s (10/13) right ear for the overtime winner. STAR improves their record against BWC Academy to 2-0-0.
Edge School (3) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (2) U17
Henry Doucette (1G, 1A) gifted Edge School the initial lead with the lone goal of the first period. Edge would build on their advantage in the second as Winston Chicilo scored 43-seconds into play. Later in the frame, Charlie Sarich would nab his first of the season on the powerplay, increasing Edge’s lead to 3-0. Prairie would show some life in the third, scoring twice, but failing to find the tying goal in the late stages. Emerson Popil (22/24) picked up the win in goal, tallying an assist in the process as well.
