Lower Canada College (8) vs Mount Academy (1) East U17
Lower Canada College whipped out the offence once again on Sunday morning, etching eight goals into the scoresheet for their fourth consecutive win. Mario Lapenna (2G, 1A) picked up two goals and an assist for a third consecutive game while Harry Miller (3A) and William Lynam (1G, 2A) each garnered three points each as well. Efstratios Couvas (19/20) picked up the win in net, coming just shy of the shutout after being beaten by Jace Hynes.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (4) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (7) U18 Prep
SAHA exited the first with a two goal cushion. However, Wenatchee would scrape back two in the second frame to erase SAHA’s lead. Into the third, Wenatchee would carry on their momentum, potting two back-to-back goals to establish a two goal lead. Cameron Kimmerly (1G, 2A) unleashed a howitzer on the powerplay to put the Wild up by two. SAHA would call a timeout following the early meltdown and would respond shortly after. Kingston Chisholm got the ball rolling quickly which eventually led to the game tying goal from Cash Olson (2G, 1A). As time ticked on, SAHA ramped up the pressure and eventually took the lead back after Cole Fisher sniped one down low. Off the next faceoff, Olson would capitalise off a Wenatchee error and score a mere eight seconds later to further extend SAHA’s lead. Olson’s late goal would prove to be the insurance marker in a chain of five unanswered third period goals for SAHA.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4) vs Notre Dame (0) U18 Prep
Gavin Smith (1G, 1A) opened the scoring with a slingshot from the point for Coeur d’Alene. Later in the frame Sokratis Markarian would double CDA’s lead on the powerplay. Notre Dame would show some push back in the second but were deflated after a highlight reel goal from Aleksandr Skuratov (2G, 1A). Skuratov would go on to add a shorthanded goal in the third, cementing CDA’s victory on Sunday. Bennett Byers (28/28) played phenomenal in goal, racking up 28-saves for his first shutout of the season.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) U18 Prep
Dylan Cawley and Benjamin Bowtell would score two first period goals for RHA Kelowna in their RINK showdown with RHA Winnipeg. Enter the second, it was Winnipeg’s turn to pot a pair. River Arnason (1G, 1A) would knock one out of the air to put Winnipeg on the board while Ridley Ringor got a wrister through traffic to tie things up. Layne Schofield would put Winnipeg ahead early in the third. However, Riley Pederson would respond for Kelowna, rifling one past Quinn Burfoot (29/32) to tie this match up at 3-3. Late in the third, Kelowna would get caught on an icing call, giving Winnipeg an offensive zone draw with under thirty seconds remaining. Victoria Royals prospect Drayden Uhrina would get some puck luck after throwing one on net, securing the game winner.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U18 Prep
After Simon Cecconi (2G, 1A) opened the scoring 24-seconds into play, both teams would trade goals back and forth to end the first as they started. Enter the second, each team would bury another two. OHA would garner a brief lead after Cohen Williams (1G, 2A) nabbed his second of the season, but Maddox Rose would bury his breakaway opportunity to tie things up before intermission. The third period would see OHA applying a bunch of pressure and they were eventually rewarded with the lead after Tucker Robertson wired home a powerplay goal from the left circle. Charlie Grant would go on to add the EN goal, securing the OHA victory.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy White (5) U15
Two late goals from Zhehan Zhao and Ryan Pickell (1G, 1A) in the first established an early lead for Delta White. Brayden Lindsay and Kaz Wescott would get those two back for PCHA early in the second, but another late Delta White goal off the stick of Reid Dutschek to put them back in front. In the third, Jayden Ni’s 19th of the season cemented Delta White’s win. Cohen Wood (15/17) made 15-saves in the win, but Shay Van Slyke (52/57) kept PCHA afloat with a 52-save performance.
Calgary International Hockey Academy (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep
Separated by only 43-seconds, CIHA nabbed two first period goals off the sticks of Max Okubo (1G, 1A) and Declan Cardiff (1G, 1A) for an early advantage. Pilot Mound’s Adam Zamecnik would get back one soon after to cut the deficit to one before the ice clean. Come the second, the shots would begin to pile on for CIHA, outshooting PMHA 22-4 and picking up the 3-1 goal courtesy of Jacob Balaberda.. Pilot Mound would showcase some push back in the final frame but CIHA would score another two to put this one out of reach. Ethan Mann (24/25) steered aside 24-shots for the victory while Matthew Palmer (36/41) stood tall for 36-stops in the loss.
Notre Dame (3) vs Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg (6) U15
In search of their first win of the regular season, Notre Dame had a hot start, picking up two goals through the first half of the first. However, RHA Winnipeg would rally back late in the frame, tying things up before the ice clean. Entering the second, RHA Winnipeg continued to apply pressure and Kelson Hawreluik (2G) would find twine first, giving them their first lead of the contest. Aiden Christie (1G, 1A) would go on to extend RHA Winnipeg’s lead later in the frame. Drew Patterson (1G, 1A) would get one back for Notre Dame in the early stages of the third but another pair of goals from RHA Winnipeg put this game to rest.
Edge School (6) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (2) U17
Edge and PHA would split the scoring in the first with two goals separated by only 22-seconds. However, Edge would catch a groove in the second, scoring four unanswered to build a 5-1 lead entering the third. Darius Odermatt (1G, 1A) would add a sixth goal to Edge’s tally, burying PHA’s chances of a comeback. Mikai Mast (17/19) picked up the win in goal, making 17-saves in the effort.
BWC Academy (10) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep
Only two BWC Academy skaters were left off the scoresheet in their double digit win over Pilot Mound. Defenceman Logan Lepinski (2G, 2A) led the charge with a pair of goals and assists while Christian Revel (1G, 3A) picked up three apples alongside a goal for a four point performance. Asher Gingras (2G) would post a pair of goals for PMHA in the loss.
Okanagan Hockey Ontario (1) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U18 Prep
In this tightly knit affair, Philippe Walsh would bang home his second of the weekend to put OHO ahead early on. However, late in the first, Hunter Yee would bang home the tying goal for OHA Edmonton, keeping things tied through one. Early in the second, Red Deer Rebels prospect Nolan Schmidt would capitalise off a turnover at OHO’s blueline before making a move to his backhand to give him his 10th of the season and the OHA Edmonton lead. As the clock ticked down, the offensive slowed down as well. Schmidt’s goal would go on to be the ultimate game winner. Ethan Edwards (25/26) made 25-saves in the win while Drew Osinga (40/42) kept OHO alive with a 40-save outing.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) vs Edge School (3) U18 Prep
Following a scoreless first, Adam M’hamed (1G, 1A) would put Edge School ahead off an abbreviated breakaway down low. Shortly after, Parson Shahi would deflect home PCHA’s first of the morning, knotting things up at one a piece. As the second period ticked on, call-up Ashton McCann would bury his first with the U18 Prep squad, giving Edge the lead. Late in the frame, Mirco Dufour would slide one in while on his backside, extending Edge’s lead to two. Teams would remain even in shots in the third, but no one could find an answer to beat Ryley Budd (33/34) or Liam Russell (36/39). Budd would backstop Edge to victory, racking up 34-saves to close out Edge’s weekend in Winnipeg.
North Shore Warriors (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3/SO) U18 Prep
Sunday’s CSSHL Feature Matchup was no slouch. Tristan Hoko (2G) would net an early pair for North Shore, giving them a two nothing lead through twenty minutes of play. As the second rolled around, CIHA would find the back of the net twice, both off of Jack Wideman (2A) point shots as Lincoln Martin and Noah Milford would deflect home both goals. Jonathan Lee was awarded a penalty shot part way through the frame, but was stuffed by the chest of a falling Cole Prelusky (37/39). Prelusky would remain perfect in the third, but the outstanding play of Bulgarian goalkeeper Georgi Milanoc (61/63) did not go unnoticed. Between a couple of lucky moments where CIHA struck iron, Milanov would come up huge with a staggering 26-saves in the third period alone. In overtime, Milanov would steer another seven chances aside, including a massive save in the final seconds as CIHA had a yawning cage to shoot at. In the shootout, Townes Kozicky would score on CIHA’s first attempt. Prelusky would come up big and stuff NSW’s first two shooters. Tri-City Americans prospect Aden Bouchard would get shut down by Milanov in the third round, giving veteran forward Matteo Paradiso a chance to extend the shootout. However, Prelusky remained composed and shut down the Warrior’s forward, clinching CIHA’s final win of the U18 Prep Showcase in Winnipeg. Despite the loss, Milanov closed out this contest with an immense 61-saves.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) U17 Prep
SAHA may have come through with the first two goals of Sunday’s matchup with NAX. But a highlight reel effort from Emmett Jones (2G) and the start of an unforgettable performance from Asher Halliday (3G, 2A), things started to look bleak for SAHA. The first would close with each team knotted up at two but NAX would shift things into top gear for the second outshooting SAHA 16-11 and racking up another pair of goals. In the third, Halliday would cap off his hat-trick, burying a back and forth play with Kalton Mortson. Halliday would then go on to pick up an assist on Jones’s second, polishing off a five point afternoon for the Hinton, AB born forward. In goal, Cam Hoose (31/33) would rack up 31-saves in the victory.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (2/SO) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (1) Female U18 Prep
After a scoreless first period Kaitlyn Senkoe scored on the power play late midway through the second to put NAX in a rematch of a game yesterday that saw SAHA come out victorious. Julie Barlow tied the game 1:07 into the third to force overtime. After OT solved nothing, Sophia Quaschnick (43/44) stopped all three SAHA shooters and Elise Slywka scored in the third round as NAX was able to win 2-1.
Delta Hockey Academy Black (7) vs STAR Hockey Academy (0) U15
Delta Black dominated the shot clock and the scoreboard, outshooting STAR 61-25 in a 7-0 win. Cash Field (3G, 2A) recorded a hat-trick, Woojin Seo (2G) scored twice, and Silas Colina (1G, 1A) and Jesse PArmar scored the other Delta Black goals. Luc Wilson-Kurenoff (25/25) made 25 saves for the shutout.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (7) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
Defenseman Wade Gallamore (1G, 4A) scored 1:35 in and Maxx Parfitt (3G, 2A) added his 18th of the season 30 seconds later. Luke Assi (1G, 1A), Marcus Domhof (2G, 1A) and Parfitt added first period markers as OHA grabbed a commanding 5-0 lead. Cooper Miller got Wenatchee on the board 1:26 into the second period with his seventh goal of the season. Parfitt restored the five goal lead when he completed the hat-trick and hit 20 goals on the season. Aidan Yu (2G) would quickly respond for Wenatchee before adding his second of the game early in the third. That was as close as they would get as Domhof added a power play marker with 34 seconds left to give OHA the 7-3 win.
STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep
Levi Ellingsen scored the lone first period goal and Braxton Baker scored his 11th goal of the season 1:52 into the second as STAR led 2-0. Delta would turn it on in the final 38, outshooting STAR 32-11 while going on a 5-0 run. Ryker Doka (1G, 1A) and Casey Pearson scored 45 seconds apart and Colton Brum (1G, 1A) added his fifth of the year 59 seconds later as Delta took a 3-2 lead heading into the third. Ronan Gow and Nicolas Peach (1G, 1A) added goals in the third as Delta overcame a two goal deficit to win 5-2. Jack Utsunomiya (21/23) and Erik Sims (35/40) were in net for their respective teams.
BWC Academy (2) vs St. George’s School (5) U15 Prep
Goals by Noah Fowler (1G, 1A) and Adam Benn just eight seconds apart gave St. George’s a 2-0 lead. They would double their goal total early in the second when Louis Oscar Holowaychuk (3G, 1A) scored twice in a 1:14 span. Evan Wong countered for BWC Academy 48 seconds later with his first of the year. Kane Nicholas (1G, 1A) scored on the power play midway through the third to give BWC Academy life, but Holowaychuk completed the hat-trick with an empty net goal with 1:43 remaining.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Yale Hockey Academy (0) U17 Prep
For the second straight game a Pacific Coast netminder earned a shutout victory as Parker Parrish (33/33) made 33 saves in a 3-0 win. Parrish and Jason Ho (42/45) kept clean sheets in the first before Chase Heide (1G, 1A) gave PCHA the lead 55 seconds into the middle frame. Kody Pham (1G, 1A) and Tristan Follick added goals in the third to round out the scoring.
Yale Hockey Academy (2) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep
Micah Davidson (33/35) and Nathan Kam (31/34) stood tall through the opening 20 as the game remained scoreless heading into the second. Noah Kelly (1G, 1A) scored 5:27 into the middle frame to put Prairie ahead going into the third. Gus Schill and Alexandre Jacques scored two straight for Yale as they turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead. But Prairie quickly flipped the script with two power play goals as Benson Hirst and Kane Domres found the back of the net in the final 7:14 to give their team a 3-2 win.
Delta Hockey Academy (3) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (0) U18 Prep
An uneventful first saw the two teams combine for 11 shots on net and zero goals as it remained a 0-0 tie heading into the second. Delta would finally break through late in the period as Nathaniel Danielson and Cruz Waltze scored in the final 5:11 in a period in which Delta put up 19 shots on net. Delta would continue to shoot the puck in the third, firing 18 shots at Ethan Lewis (41/44), beating him once when Nicholas Campbell (1G, 2A) scored an early power play goal. Greyson Moroz (15/15) made 15 saves for the shutout.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3/OT) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U15
After OHA Edmonton defeated RHA Kelowna 8-4 yesterday, Tyler Reszitnyk scored his first goal of the season late in the first to put the visiting side up 1-0 after 20. Matteo Gambetti and Ian Kim scored two straight in the second as OHA Edmonton jumped ahead. Cooper deWal tied the game late in the period before a scoreless third saw the game head to overtime. Kinley Sisson (1G, 1A) would pick the perfect time to score her first goal of the season, giving RHA Kelowna the 3-2 OT win with 31 seconds left on the clock.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) U15 Prep
Nathan Marques (1G, 1A) scored his fifth goal of the game 5:40 in to give OHA the 1-0 lead. Cole Hamakawa (2G) and Mason Poitras scored 20 seconds apart as RHA Kelowna grabbed a 2-1 advantage going into the second. They continued to roll from there as Alexander Sharman (1G, 2A) scored on the power play and Hamakawa added his second 22 seconds later. OHA would make a late push as Cooper Giarraputo scored a power play marker with 1:50 remaining to cut the deficit to two, but Gunner Podollan (36/38) stood tall the rest of the way as RHA Kelowna earned a 4-2 win.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (9) U15
Jace Williams (1G, 1A), Owen Magness and Mason Liebel all scored in a span of 4:10 as OHA held a commanding 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of play. But CIHA would start to wake up in the second when Jaret Otto scored 3:04 in on the power play. Liam Nycholat (2G, 3A) scored on a penalty shot 2:01 later, though Jake Gates (1G, 2A) quickly doubled the OHA lead 39 seconds later. From there it was all CIHA as Loic Lebel (1G, 1A), Owen Light (1G, 2A) and Joyesh Ghosh (1G, 1A) scored to put their team ahead 5-4 going into the third. CIHA stayed hot in the third with Emerson Hiebert (2G) tallying back-to-back goals, Tomas Figura (1G, 2A) scoring his fifth of the year, and Nycholat adding a late power play marker.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (0) vs Delta Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep
Delta outshot CDA 47-16 en route to a 7-0 shutout victory. Jack Morgan (2G, 1A) scored twice while Wyatt Callander (1G, 3A) and Cortland LeMieux (3A) each had three assists. Matthew Wong (16/16) made 16 saves to record the shutout while Jackson Wagner (40/47) was charged with the loss.
Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4/SO) U17 Prep
After a scoreless first Zachery Hall opened the scoring on the power play 2:03 into the second. Tayln Kopansky quickly responded for RHA Winnipeg, tying the game 50 seconds later. Xander Ramsay and Isaac Sousa (1G, 1A) traded goals to close out the second period. Chad Clark put CIHA back on top midway through the third but Riley Miller tied the game with three minutes left, scoring his first goal of the season. OT solved nothing despite the two teams combining for 11 shots in the five minutes. In the shootout Brady Robert (51/54) stopped all three CIHA shooters and Sousa scored the lone goal in the first round as RHA Winnipeg earned a 4-3 win, despite never leading in the game.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs Edge School (4) U15
Easton Armstrong (2G, 1A) scored twice in the first as Edge led 2-0 after 20. Hudson Wicharuk got OHA on the board 3:21 into the second with a power play goal. Tyler O’Gorman restored the two goal lead midway through the frame and Charlie Near added another Edge marker with 14 seconds left in the period. Mason Liebel would tally a buzzer beater for OHA to bring them within two heading into the final period. Both Caden Stanley (21/23) and Ethan Watson (44/48) kept clean sheets in the third as the period ended the same way it started, 4-2 in favour of Edge.
Delta Hockey Academy Black (3) vs North Shore Warriors (4) Female U18 Prep
Emma Biros opened the scoring and Addison McFegan added her fourth of the year early in the second as Delta Black led 2-0. Brielle Banton got North Shore on the board with a power play goal and Kynla Evans tied the game 1:22 later. Kinleigh Blane (1G, 1A) restored the Delta Black lead 1:06 after that with her second goal of the season. Alexa Roberts would tie the game 4:20 later with the second North Shore power play marker. Tied 3-3 midway through the third, Kaida Okamura (1G, 1A) gave North Shore their first lead, which they would hold onto to earn a 4-3 win. Haylie Hedges (25/28) and Nicole Flesher (34/38) were in net for their respective teams.
