GAME DAY RECAP: November 20-22, 2024

Lower Canada College (3) vs Stanstead College (6) East U17

Stanstead set the tone early in the first after Liam Armit scored 29-seconds into play. The scoring would resume in the second with Stanstead striking early again just nine seconds this time around thanks to the efforts of Emanuel Ganz (1G, 1A). Matthew D’Urso would get one back for LCC later in the frame but was immediately answered by Stanstead’s Jordan Ilunga first of the season. Teams would trade goals once more before heading into the third where Tristan Mancini-Kozel (1G, 2A) would get LCC to within one with plenty of time left on the clock. However, Stanstead would continue to pour on the offence, being compensated with two goals late from Elijah Arrigo (1G, 1A) and Parker Banks.

Notre Dame (0) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (8) U18 Prep

A five-point outing from Hubert Larose (2G, 3A) was the main factor in a commanding victory over Notre Dame. Carter Wingert (4A) also chipped in with four helpers while four other skaters produced multi-point affairs. Micah Davidson (14/14) was in goal for the win, producing his first shutout of the 2024-25 campaign.

Selwyn House School (5) vs Ulysse Academie (0) East U17

Selwyn House School defeated Ulysse Academie 5-0 to earn their first ever CSSHL win. Isaac Huberman (2G) opened the scoring 8:38 into the first period, providing Selwyn with enough offence to effectively win the game. Huberman and Lynden Larsen (1G, 2A) added goals in the second while Julian Harroch (1G, 1A) and Matheo Lazanis found the back of the net in the third to take home a convincing 5-0 win. Luca Ottoni (21/21) made 21 saves to earn the shutout while Arnaud Paradis (25/30) was charged with the loss. 

Wenatchee Wild (0) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep

After a scoreless first period Bradley Schmidt scored on the power play 5:20 into the second to give OHA a 2-0 lead. Eli Tverdovsky (1G, 2A) added a shorthanded marker later in the period to extend the lead heading into the third. Tucker Robertson (2G, 1A) scored 1:09 into the final period as OHA started to run away with the game. Soren Brons-Douvile, Robertson and Marcus Domhof added goals in a span of less than four minutes to round out the scoring. Chayse Johnson (16/16) made just 16 saves for the shutout. Nathaniel Madrigal (46/52) was in net for Wenatchee in the loss. 

Notre Dame (1) vs Edge School (13) U17

Austin Jefferies (3G) and Darius Odermatt (3G) each recorded hat-tricks while Ashmit Bubbar (4A) led all skaters with four points as Edge School defeated Notre Dame 13-1. All but one Edge skater recorded at least one point and Emerson Popil (22/23) made 22 saves to earn the win. Jordan Van Langen scored the lone goal for Notre Dame. 

St. George’s School (4) vs OHA Edmonton (3) U17 Prep

A nifty backhand pass from Byron Chin (3A) found Jason Gao (3G, 1A) in the slot as he made no mistake to give St. George’s the 1-0 lead. Just minutes later, after Evan Dowling (1G, 2A) found himself all alone behind the St. George’s defence, Keenan Fox (2G) was there to clean up the garbage, shovelling the rebound top shelf. OHA Edmonton grabbed their first lead midway through the second when Dowling batted home a rebound off a Michael Kaplan point shot. Gao tied the game less than two minutes later when he and Holden Tuttle caught the OHA Edmonton defence sleeping and found themselves on a 2-on-0. Fox would restore the lead early in the third as Dowling set him up for the back door tap-in. Gao would respond again less than two minutes later, this time finding a loose puck in the slot and burying it low glove. With the game looking like it would head to overtime, a passing play led by Gao and Chin would lead to Josh Gravistin (1G, 1A) making no mistake all alone in the slot to give St. George’s the 4-3 win. Les Toth (40/43) and Aidan Prosser (31/35) were in net for their respective teams. 

Delta Hockey Academy Green (8) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) Female U18 Prep

Molly Cole (3G) recorded a hat-trick and defenseman Avery Wilson (3A) had three assists to lead Delta Green to an 8-1 win over RHA Winnipeg. Erica Barnard (1G, 1A), Madison Batch, Audrey Church (1G, 1A), Gabriella Lee (1G, 1A) and Niayah Morris (1G, 1A) added the other Delta Green goals while Jillian Matthews (30/31) made 30 saves for the win. Defender Paetyn Stansell scored the lone RHA Winnipeg goal. 

North Shore Warriors vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy Female U18 Prep

First period goals from Jaylah Bottle (1G, 1A) and Knyla Evans saw North Shore ahead 2-0 after 20. Logan Sullivan scored her second of the season 2:58 into the second to get Pilot Mound on the board. Kaida Okamura restored the two goal cushion heading into the third. Jordan Jones and Sabrina Di Fonzo (1G, 1A) added third period markers as North Shore started to pull away. Ashlyn Kuffler would halt the run but Grace Macdonald replied 1:32 later as the Warriors earned a 6-2 win in their opening game of the weekend. Mackenzie Ayou (26/28) made 26 saves in the win. 

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (6) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (5) U17 Prep

Trigger Two Guns opened the scoring just 30 seconds into the game as ISA came racing out the gate. Shawn Haynes (1G, 1A) tied the game 4:06 later as the first period ended 1-1. CDA took over in the second as Akira Ota (2G, 1A), Carson White-Sibley, Sal Costa and Brody Payne gave their team a commanding 5-1 lead. But ISA wouldn’t go away quietly as East Bauer, Jace Frencheater, Karson Ledoux (1G, 2A) and Chaunde Jack (1G, 1A) brought the game level at 5-5 midway through the third. It was all for nothing though as Ota restored the CDA lead 2:22 later and Alex Doyer (31/36) shut the door the rest of the way to give CDA the 6-5 win. 

Delta Hockey Academy (4) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

Maxum Pyatt and Caden Leibel scored 1:18 apart early in the first to give Delta an early 2-0 advantage. Noah Alexander got SAHA on the board late in the opening frame with his fourth goal of the season. Delta continued to do damage in the opening minutes of the period as Kishan Saggu scored 21 seconds into the second and Luke Anderson added another goal less than three minutes later. Ryker Klassen cut into the lead with a power play goal early in the third and Aidan Poulin scored shorthanded with 9:47 left as SAHA started to give Delta a scare. Ultimately, Matthew Wong (29/32) made 29 saves to earn his division leading 10th win of the season. Defensemen Paxton Cabana (3A) assisted on all three SAHA goals to lead all skaters with three points. 

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Edge School Female (1) U18 Prep

Tiani Makokis scored the lone first period goal as OHA led 1-0 after 20. Olivia Imperato tied the game midway through the second period with a power play marker. Audrina Freeman (1G, 1A) scored the game winner for OHA with 9:03 left to play. Brooklyn Blomquist hit double digit goals with a shorthanded marker just 2:45 later. Jada Wood added her fifth of the season to round out the scoring and give OHA the 4-1 win. Mauve Gosselin Berg (23/24) made 23 saves to earn the win. 

Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (1) vs St. Mary’s Academy (2) Female U18 Prep

St. Mary’s outshot OHA Black 10-3 in the first and led 1-0 thanks to a Reese Kartusch goal. Hannah Arnold scored her fifth of the season 50 seconds into the second to extend the lead in a period in which St. Mary’s dominated the shot clock, 17-3. Christina Terzariol gave OHA Black life when she found the back of the net for the second time this season with 8:59 remaining. Her team was unable to find an equaliser as Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine (11/12) made the majority of her saves in the third period to give St. Mary’s the 2-1 win. Ryann Faulkner (34/36) faced 36 shots in the loss. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) U17 Prep

Defenseman Kody Pham (2G, 1A) opened the scoring 4:43 in before Nolan Phare and Pham traded goals to close out the period. Brayden Howe (1G, 1A) added a power play goal late in the second and Ander Reyes (34/35) made 23 saves through the final 40 minutes of play as Pacific Coast defeated NAX 3-1. Matthew Coyle (45/48) was in net for NAX in the loss. 

Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs BWC Academy (6) U15 Prep

Kenzo Gibson (2G, 1A) opened the scoring for BWC Academy with his fifth of the season. Shea Mooney (1G, 1A) countered with a power play goal less than five minutes later. Cohen Baker and Liam Bordt (1G, 2A) each scored power play goals in the first half of the second to give BWC Academy the lead. Gibson, Jackson Beggs (1G, 1A) and Kristian Lima added goals in the second half of the period as BWC Academy took a commanding 6-1 lead into the third. Talon Scinocca added another OHA power play goal in the third but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit. Mya Young (26/28) and Maddox Slater (39/45) were in net for their respective teams. 

Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) vs OHA Edmonton (3) U15 Prep

A power play goal by Luka Samu (2G) gave NAX a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission. Brady Ondrus (2G, 1A) added to the lead 1:54 into the second before Austin Blackmore and Samu traded goals to close out the period. Anderson Reschny brought OHA Edmonton within one 14 seconds into the third with a power play marker. Cruz Jim (1G, 1A) responded with a power play goal of his own 7:41 later. Ondrus added his second shortly after as NAX grabbed a 5-2 lead. Kael Scott (1G, 1A) scored his 14th of the season to cut into the lead but Riley Brown (1G, 1A) quickly countered for NAX 1:13 later to secure the 6-3 win. Karter Gibson (26/29) and Gavin Steeves (50/56) were in net for their respective teams. 

STAR Hockey Academy (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (6/SO) U17 Prep

Aleks Ostrovskyy (1G, 2A) and Colton Stabbler scored 1:21 apart within the first five minutes of the game as STAR grabbed an early 2-0 lead. Dax Laplante quickly responded for RHA Winnipeg to get them on the board. Peyton Thiessen tied the game in the second with a power play goal and Gavin Quennelle put his team ahead later in the period. Anderson Carter (2G) levelled the score heading into the third where back-to-back goals from Carter and Will Sumner (1G, 1A) saw STAR grab the lead. Spencer Kuntz brought RHA Winnipeg within one with a power play tally and Isaac Sousa forced OT with 2:15 left to play. Five minutes of overtime solved nothing and a shootout was needed where Knox Burton scored the lone goal and Chase Charriere (33/38) stopped all three STAR shooters. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs St. George’s School (6) U15 Prep

A power play goal by Nathaniel Moore (1G, 2A) and an even strength goal from Noah Fowler (3G, 2A) saw St. George’s lead 2-0 after 20. Holden Wouters (1G, 1A) and Fowler doubled the St. George’s goal total in the second before John Main got PCHA on the board with a power play marker. Adam Benn restored the four goal lead 1:43 into the third with his fourth of the year. Cameron Young-Thompson (1G, 1A) and Cole Gann (1G, 1A) scored two straight for PCHA as they looked to mount a comeback attempt. But Fowler would complete the hat-trick and secure St. George’s the victory 2:08 later. Joffrey Chan (30/33)

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (0) U17 Prep

A 23 save shutout from Linden Sobocan (23/23) saw OHA defeat CIHA 4-0. Maxx Parfitt scored his division leading 21st goal and Ben Fragle (1G, 1A) added his first as OHA led 2-0 after 20. Sobocan and Ethan Mann (30/34) kept clean sheets in the second before Marcus Domhof and Landon Nagle scored less than two minutes apart early in the third to put the game out of reach. 

Delta Hockey Academy (1) vs BWC Academy (9) U18 Prep

Noah Sinagowitz (32/33) made 32 saves and BWC Academy fired 53 shots at the Delta net to claim a 9-1 win Friday. Logan Lepinski (1G, 2A), Keagan Lundie (2G, 1A), Kadyn O’Brien (1G, 2A), and Christian Revel (1G, 2A) all paced the BWC Academy offence with three points each. Otto Spofforth scored the lone Delta goal in the loss. 

Delta Hockey Academy Black (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) Female U18 Prep

Myra Connor’s (1G, 1A) first of the season gave Delta Black a 1-0 lead 3:59 in. It was short lived though as Brynn Evans (3G, 1A) tied the game 10 seconds later and Mayson Mattersdorfer (1G, 2A) gave NAX the lead seven minutes later. Evans and Brayden Stewart (1G, 2A) scored in the second period to increase the NAX lead to 4-1. Madison Brazeau (1G, 1A) added her third of the season 31 seconds into the third as NAX continued to pile it on. Haley Waugh stopped the bleeding but a late Evans goal completed her hat-trick and gave NAX the 6-2 win. 

BWC Academy (3) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Kai Smith (1G, 1A) scored the lone first period goal and Marshall Lyons added the only goal in the second as BWC Academy held a 2-0 lead going into the third. Aiden Baker (1G, 1A) scored 1:18 into the third to extend the BWC Academy advantage. Kolton Bigras finally broke through for Pilot Mound, ending the Josh Wu (24/25) shutout bid with 8:48 left to play. Matthew Palmer (35/38) made 35 saves, including a potential save of the year candidate, in the loss. 

St. Mary’s High School (2) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (6) Female U18 Prep

Jaylee Skog (1G, 1A) scored on the power play and Kamryn Reiber (1G, 1A) added her seventh of the year as SAHA held a 2-0 advantage after 20. Riley Gramlich (1G, 1A) added a power play goal 29 seconds into the second and Marley Howes (1G, 2A) and Keyana Bert (1G, 1A) each tallied goals of their own as SAHA held a commanding 5-0 lead. Elizabeth Huh would get St. Mary’s on the board 1:38 later as they trailed by four heading into the third. Cali Byrd scored late in the third for St. Mary’s but it was quickly cancelled out 34 seconds later by Emily Gerdevich’s second of the year. Phoenix Buckler (10/12) faced just 12 shots in net for SAHA. 

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep

Peter Banicevic opened the scoring for Delta with his eighth goal of the season. Delta remained ahead by one heading into the second as Luca Vaugeois and Colton Brum traded power play markers to close out the second. Cole Hamakawa tied the game 34 seconds into the middle frame and Alexander Sharman (1G, 2A) scored the game winner midway through the second. Dylan Mingo (34/36) made 22 saves in the final two periods to secure the RHA Kelowna victory. 

North Shore Warriors (1) vs STAR Hockey Academy (4) U15

Olan Ward (1G, 1A) got everything started out for STAR, scoring on the powerplay just under three minutes into play. Come the second, Benton Fuller (2G) would net two straight goals to put STAR up 3-0. Keegan Hole would snatch one back for North Shore, beating Alexander Petukhov (27/28) five hole. Before the end of the frame, Eli Solberg (1G, 1A) would intercept the puck at NSW’s blueline before firing one top shelf to ultimately put this one out of reach for the Warriors. 

Shawnigan Lake School (5) vs North Shore Warriors (3) U18 Prep

Shawnigan would come out with the initial lead through twenty as Ryan Turner (2G) was able to find twine. Turner would go on to double Shawnigan’s lead with his second in the middle frame. However, North Shore would strike for three unanswered to close out the second with Mark Lee (1G, 1A) capturing the go ahead goal late. In the third, Matthew McKay’s first of the campaign would tie things back up for Shawnigan. Just 14-seconds later, Weston Ebrahim (2G) would net the go ahead goal for Shawnigan, restoring their lead. Ebrahim would go on to score the EN goal while Will Stonehouse (39/42) rounded out 20-saves in the third alone to backstop Shawnigan to victory.

North Shore Warriors (7) vs Notre Dame (5) U17 Prep

NSW and Notre Dame would swap goals back and forth throughout the first period, with Notre Dame coming out on top thanks to a late goal from Joe Watson. Come the second, Notre Dame would increase their lead to 5-2 after Henry Holt (2G) and Logan Arnold buried a pair in under a minute. Lucas Lekakis (2G) would get one back for the Warriors before the closure of the second. NSW was facing an uphill battle in the third but that did not detest them. Christopher Mah (1G, 2A) would get things started off, cutting the deficit to one. Later on, Robert Orr (2G, 1A) wired home his second of the evening, managing to knot this game up at five a piece. Things seemed destined for overtime, but the late and stylish heroics of Tobin Schaefer (1G, 2A) wrote a different story as the North Van forward rushed end-to-end before finishing on his backhand for the game winner. Landon Kelly would add the late empty netter, sealing up the comeback win for the Warriors.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (14) vs OHA Edmonton (1) Female U18 Prep

In an offensive showcase, Alida Korte (3G, 3A) and Danica Maynard (6A) each nabbed six-points each for RHA Kelowna. Eleven other skaters picked up multi-point efforts, including Emelia McDermid (2G, 1A), Ava MacLeod (1G, 2A) and Kennedy Sisson (1G, 2A). Riley Cooper scored the lone goal for OHA Edmonton after being sprung on a breakaway by Joryn Hempel.

Edge School (7) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U15

Lachlan Kisio capitalised early for Edge, scoring off a NAX turnover just over a minute into play. Soon after, Kyden Bartole would double Edge’s advantage just 2:25 into the game. Ryder McDonald’s first off the season got NAX out of their early hole but another two goals from Edge to end the period, including a nifty passing play between Matteo Dufour, James Butterwick (1G, 1A) and Luke Bodtker (1G, 2A), helped keep NAX at bay for a greater portion of this contest. Edge would pot another two in the second to establish a 6-1 lead into the third. NAX would play with pride in the final twenty, scoring three unanswered to make things a 6-4 game, but it was too little too late. Hudson Andrews (22/26) picked up the win between the pipes for Edge School.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) vs Yale Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

Despite an impressive start from Yale, going up 2-0, Roman Lavery (3G) and the Sea Devils would get the best of Yale going forward. Lavery would open the scoring for PCHA following Yale’s pair of early tallies. Heading into the second, Gus Schill (2G) would restore Yale’s two goal advantage, but partway through the frame, Lavery would nab his second of the evening, eventually polishing off his hat-trick just a few minutes later. From this point on, PCHA wasn’t looking back, scoring a total of five unanswered to clean up Yale with a score of 6-3. Sam Sakiw (35/38) played a vital role in the win, steering 35-shots clear of goal.

Fort Erie International Academy (3) vs Ontario Hockey Academy (1) East U17

Cade McGrath opened the scoring for FEIA in the first, giving them the lead through twenty. Samuel Schelling (2G) would double that lead in the second, scoring the eventual game winner as Yoti Matsumura got OHA on the board early in the third. Schelling would also supply the insurance marker later in the third.

King Heights Academy (6/SO) vs CIH Academy (5) East U18

Alex Thompson (1G, 3A) gave CIH Academy the early lead with a shortside snipe off the left hand side, giving them the lead through one. Early in the second, CIH Academy would capitalise on a rare 3-on-0 opportunity where Noah Picken (1G, 3A) would make no mistake. King Height’s would ramp up the pressure after falling down 2-0 as Vytas Lenkutis (2G, 2A) buried KHA’s first of the evening. This was soon followed by two strikes from Michael Lacroce (1G, 2A) and Murad Safarov (1G, 2A). CIH Academy would tie things up once again before the end of the period. Early in the third both teams would trade goals once more but Taige Soneji (2G, 2A) would give them the advantage with his second of the period. In the final minute of play, Lenkutis would fire home the game tying marker, forcing overtime and an eventual shootout. In said shootout, Lenkutis would once again come clutch, dancing on to goal before slipping a backhand over Noah Vidal (36/41) for the shootout winner and makeshift hat-trick. 

Shawnigan Lake School (4) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep

Through the opening two periods of play, no one could find the back of the net. However, that didn’t stop this contest from having moderate scoring as each team would combine for six goals in the third. Wenatchee got it started off after Tyler Stefani buried a feed from Aidan Yu (1G, 1A). However, Shawnigan would string together a chain of four goals to establish a 4-1 lead late into the match. Ryder Kerr (1G, 1A) and Egan Kenny (1G, 1A) would each snag a pair of points. Yu would get one more back in the final minute for Wenatchee, but it was too little too late.

Shawnigan Lake School (7) vs Balmoral Hall School (4) Female U18 Prep

Led by captain Taya Lonsdale (3G) and a couple of shorthanded goals, Shawngian Lake was able to come out on top over Balmoral Hall. Along with Lonsdale’s hat-trick, Grace Cooper (2G) nabbed a pair for herself and Cassandra Kehler (3A) picked up three helpers. Balmoral’s top guns were firing as well, as Madeline McKay (1G, 3A) and Maddie Kaiser (2G, 1A) grabbed four and three points respectively. 

STAR Hockey Academy (4) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U15 Prep

Ethan Mah snapped home the opening goal just 38-seconds in off a rush down the right win. However, STAR remained unfazed, eventually ending this period up 2-1 thanks to the efforts of Ronin Brunner (1G, 1A) and Edrick Himley. Come the second, STAR was clicking. Captain Levi Ellingsen and Brunner would play give and go for a highlight reel powerplay goal while Deacon Wilson polished off a one-timer on a yawning cage to extend STAR’s lead to 4-1. William Thompson would get one back for NSW late, but the solid play of Erik Sims (14/16) kept STAR on top, taking the win 4-2. 

Prairie Hockey Academy (4/SO) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) U17

PHA and RHA Winnipeg would rally back and forth through the entirety of this contest. Casey Mitschke was able to give RHA Winnipeg the lead heading into the third but the second goal of the evening for Jake Myhre (2G) tied everything up and forced OT and an eventual shootout. Myhre would score on Prairie’s first attempt for the makeshift hat-trick and that would stand as the game winner as Cole Fox (64/67) locked down all three shooters in the process, racking up an immense 64-save win when it was all said and done.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (12) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

Riley Robert opened the scoring for Pilot Mound before SAHA scored four straight. Asher Gingras halted the run just eight seconds later, 1:05 into the second, but SAHA countered with eight unanswered to take home a dominant 12-2 win. Defenseman Koray Bozkaya (5A) and forward Brayden Ryan-Mackay (3G, 2A) led all skaters with five points, while Asher Watson (2G, 2A) chipped in with four points in the win.

Yale Hockey Academy (4) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Only 13-seconds into play, Seth Castronuovo (2G, 1A) wired home his 16th of the campaign to put Yale ahead early. That lead would follow into the second where Mikkel Dennill would extend it to two. Nixon Friesen would get one back for Prairie but another second period goal once again coming off the hot stick of Catronuovo would extend the lead. Adrien Comeau would add another insurance marker in the third as Yale would go on to clinch this victory with a score of 4-1. Carson Lang (24/25) picked up 24-saves in the win for his sixth win on the season.

Notre Dame (2) vs Edge School (5) U17

Noah Brade and Jordan Van Langen traded goals in the first as the game entered the intermission tied 1-1. Langdon Woo scored a power play goal 3:59 into the second and Darius Odermatt added a shorthanded marker 27 seconds later as Edge grabbed a 3-1 lead. Henry Doucette (1G, 1A) tallied another Edge shorthanded goal midway through the period to extend their advantage going into the third. Ryder Pisiak and Notre Dame finally got the better of the Edge penalty kill, scoring a power play goal 2:56 into the second to cut into the deficit. However, Ashmit Bubbar added a late Edge power play goal to secure a 5-2 win. Mikai Mast (16/18) and Madden Besplug (34/39) were in net for their respective teams. 

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (7) vs Edge School (6) U17 Prep

Rhett Tubello (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for RHA Kelowna just 20 seconds in to kick-start an exciting first period. Joshua Johnstone and Ethan Fidelak added to the RHA Kelowna lead before Andrew Ragusa and Izayah Zaharko scored back-to-back goals for Edge. Reid Rabinovitch (1G, 1A) countered for RHA Kelowna 36 seconds later and Preston Kelly-Paquet tallied a late power play marker as RHA Kelowna headed into the break with a 5-2 lead. Finn Howes (1G, 1A) scored a power play goal 5:10 into the second to get Edge within two. Brody Bradshaw’s (1G, 1A) 12th of the season put RHA Kelowna back up by three, though goals from Ashton McCann and James Matheos (1G, 1A) brought Edge within one heading into the final frame. Hudson Podollan scored the eventual game winner 2:38 into the third as he doubled the lead. Antonio Cazac (1G, 1A) gave Edge late life as they made a push for the tying goal, but were unable to break through and beat Asher Netherton (32/38) again. 

Shawnigan Lake School (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep

In a quiet first period, Yale would take the lead late thanks to a tap in goal from Matteo Zenone. The scoring would take a break in the second but would pick up again in the third after Bryce Todd polished off a delicious feed from Owen Vaillancourt. Shortly after, Michael Kuzik would rip one home from the hashmarks to restore Yale’s advantage. This lead would eventually take them to the promised land, beating Shawnigan by a score of 2-1. Mason Sutherland (20/21) made 20-key stops in the win, but hats off to Shawnigan keeper Donagh Esler-Twiss (49/51) giving his team a chance racking up 49-saves in the loss.

Delta Hockey Academy Black (7) vs St. George’s School (3) U15

Cash Field (3G) opened the scoring in part of a three goal first period for Delta Black. Alan Qiu would stop the bleeding for St. George’s early in the second, but Delta Black would rally back with another quick pair, separated by only 13-seconds. Freddie Brooks-Hill (1G, 1A) would  get another one back for the Saints but Field would respond shortly after, nabbing his hat-trick in the process and putting this game out of reach for St. George’s. Brayden Allan (38/41) made 38-stops in the evening win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4/SO) U18 Prep

After splitting goals in the first period, RHA Kelowna was able to get a step on CDA. Riley Pederson scored the go ahead goal late in the second to give RHA Kelowna a 3-2 advantage into the third. Come the late stages of the third, Eli Fareria was able to tie things up for CDA forcing overtime and an eventual shootout. The shootout would need five rounds to find its winner, going on to eventually be CDA after Elias Schneider broke past Louis Gu (33/36). On the opposite side of the rink, CDA goaltender Bennett Byers (53/56) stopped 4/5 shootout attempts and picked up an extra 53-saves in the remarkable victory over RHA Kelowna.
