GAME DAY RECAP: September 14, 2025

Kuper Academy (11) vs Mount Academy (0) East U17 Prep

Thomas Issa (1G, 3A) and Raf Kytnar (2G, 1A) scored 1:07 apart as Kuper led 2-0 after 20. The offence would continue in the second as Kuper scored seven times to take a 9-0 lead into the final period. In the third, Emile Fortin (2G) scored shorthanded and Angelo Jr Colletti (2G, 2A) scored his eighth goal in just his third game of the season to round out the scoring. Matteo Valluzzi (20/20) made 20 saves in net for his first career CSSHL shutout. Connor Alward (42/53) faced 53 shots in net for Mount.

STAR Hockey Academy vs Delta Hockey Academy U17

Looking at the game as a whole, the scoreline is just a little bit deceiving. There’s an implication of closeness in a 6-4 game, but that wouldn’t be giving enough credit to the first, Delta Hockey Academy’s offensive output. DHA fired 60 shots at the STAR net, which takes us to the other standout worthy of a spotlight. STAR goaltender Ry Jeffries, in his CSSHL debut, kept the game respectable with a 54-save performance. Delta led 3-1 through one, and had Toni Cipllaka open his U17AAA account with a goal 39 seconds into the second period. Delta sent 15 second-period shots on target in all, but with Jeffries’ keeping things status quo from there, STAR Hockey Academy capitalized on their opportunities to claw their way back, with Camden Freeman, Aaron Comer (1G, 1A), and Brody Lukinbill scoring within five minutes of one another. Despite going into the third period deadlocked at four, Delta was still doubling up STAR’s shots on goal number at 35-17. Having let a three-goal lead slip, any messing around from Delta was in the past, and DHA ended up in control of the entire third period. Brady Olson (2G, 1A) gave Delta the lead back, and Spencer Atkinson extended the scoreline to 6-4, with the third period’s conclusion seeing Delta outshoot STAR 25-4 in the last twenty minutes.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (5) White U15

The second of two games between RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna and DHA White’s U15 contingents gave RINK Kelowna an opportunity to bounce back following Delta White’s 6-2 win on Saturday night. RINK Kelowna’s fate on Sunday afternoon was, unfortunately, a near mirror image of Saturday’s battle. Delta White’s Sajan Chatha and RINK Kelowna’s Landen Gray traded early first-period goals, but from there, it was Delta White’s goaltending that made all the difference. Tyler Rydberg got the start Sunday after resting the game prior, and while Gray’s goal beat him early, he’d be perfect from there on out, finishing the game with 33 stops on 34 shots. Kayden Krestanovich assisted on Delta White’s go-ahead goal late in the first before he scored on a second-period power play, and from there, things remained secure for Delta White.
