GAME DAY RECAP: October 31, 2025

STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) U15 Prep

The RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U15 Prep squad has seen a mixed bag of results to start the season, but if RHAW wants to stay in the upper echelon of their division, the wins would need to become a consistent result. Back-to-back wins over Pilot Mound Hockey Academy last week saw RHAW wrestle momentum back, looking ahead to their three-in-three this weekend to continue the positive results. Friday’s win over STAR Hockey Academy was an excellent way to begin their weekend, doing so by absolutely dominating the first forty minutes. RHAW outshot STAR 17-3 in the first and 24-5 in the second, and while STAR would score the first goal and lead for nearly six minutes of the second period, RHAW’s offence output, once it arrived, came fast and frequent. Four goals in less than three minutes, including the last two coming within nine seconds of each other, helped RHA Winnipeg open a 4-1 lead prior to the halfway point in the game. Ryder McLean scored his fifth goal of the season from the back end already, and come the end of the second, RHAW led 5-1. STAR would take advantage of RHAW taking its foot off the gas come the third and score another, but RHAW ultimately prevailed 5-2.

Edge School (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep

On September 27, RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg beat Edge School’s U15 Prep squad 5-4 in overtime. Delta Hockey Academy, much alike Edge School, have been near-perfect. Overtime and shootout losses to Yale Hockey Academy and RHA Kelowna are the only two blemishes on Delta’s record. Friday’s game between Edge and Delta swung in both directions, and while Edge led 3-1 at the contests’ halfway point, a four-minute stretch in the back half of the second period changed everything. Delta made good on a pair of power plays in quick succession, with goals barely 90 seconds apart from Eli Vickers (1G, 1A) and Mazen Green (2G) dragging the game to 3-3. With the game tied, Ryder Pavlic (2G) scored to break the tie late in the second to give Delta their first lead of the game. With the momentum having swung squarely in their favour, Delta made sure come the third, and after Pavlic’s second of the game early on, Delta was able to make sure from there. Brayden Allan stopped 29 of 32 in the win for DHA including nine on nine shots for Allan in the third period.

King Heights Academy (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (3) East U18 Prep

Heading into October 31, King Heights Academy had only played one game all season in the Eastern U18 Prep division, and it didn’t go their way, losing big at the hands of Fort Erie International Academy. Okanagan Hockey Ontario’s workload has been the opposite side of the coin, with seven games under their belt coming into a weekend that see them start with King Heights and end with Fort Erie. OHO had lost six of seven to start, and with King Heights preceding their Saturday matchup with a ruthless FEI squad. After a scoreless first, OHO would finally breakthrough in the second, with two goals in the first two minutes of the period sending them on their way. Kenton Wong and Byrnell Roberts scored that pair of goals to put OHO up a pair. Adam Clark (1G, 1A) has been the bright spot for OHO so far this season, and late in the second, his sixth goal of the season extended the lead to 3-0. King Heights pulled one back in the third, but that was as successful as their comeback effort would prove to be.

Yale Hockey Academy vs Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 Prep

Two heavyweights of the U15 Prep division clashed in Winnipeg Friday, with two of the top three ranked teams in the division, Yale Hockey Academy and the Northern Alberta Xtreme, playing eerie first head-to-head game this season. Between these two teams, they’d won a combined 14 wins in 15 games between the two. Yale had won all eight, while NAX prevailed in six of their seven. Friday’s clash swung both directions; Danel Ramazanov (2G) scored the only goal of the first for NAX, but in the second, both sides started trading heavy blows. In less than a seven-minute span, the lead changed twice; Yale scored two, the second of which being Teagan Dernisky’s fifteenth goal of the season already, but NAX responded. Specifically, Liam Bordt responded, scoring two goals in 51 seconds, turning their deficit into a 3-2 lead in less than a minute. For nearly 26 minutes after Bordt’s second, the score wouldn’t change, but yet again, once the goals started, they continued to flow. Ryker Stevens (1G, 1A) tied the game for Yale with less than eight minutes to go in the third, but much like the second period, NAX responded to the goal with tenacious offence of their own. Rylan Edwards (1G, 2A) gave NAX their lead back less than 50 seconds after Yale had tied it, and they’d find the dagger on a man advantage not long after. Good puck movement from NAX ended with Emmett Abel (2A) feeding the puck from the slot to Ramazanov in the right circle, who hammered one into the back of the net to make it 5-3. Yale would pull back within one with less than thirty seconds to go, but ultimately, that goal wouldn’t matter, except for putting Zayden Maclean (27/31) under a bit more pressure in the NAX crease for the remaining seconds.

St. George’s School (1) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep

South Alberta Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep team came into this weekend having lost five straight games, with St. George’s School standing between SAHA and their first victory in October. St. George’s School, conversely, came in red-hot. SGS lost their season opened to BWC but had won six straight before Friday. It looked to be their game early in the first period, with Luca Rogers scoring three minutes in to give SGS the icebreaker. SAHA, from there, fought back, and did an excellent job of seizing the opportunities when they presented themselves. It took less than a minute for SAHA to score on their first powerplay, and after that, they’d continue dominating the special teams battle. Carter Jarvis scored on another powerplay later in the first, and for the rest of the game, SAHA’s damage was done in a similar way. They’d score another goal on the man advantage in both the second and third periods, and while the score said 5-1 by the end of the game, SAHA’s win wouldn’t have been possible without the play of Cole Anderson between the pipes, who made 30 saves on 31 shots for the win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6) vs North Shore Warriors (5) U15

The schedule endured by the North Shore Warriors’ U15 squad to start the season has been far from kind. The lone win came over St. George’s School, and while RHA Kelowna haven’t had as many games against the top end squads, they’ve had a heavy workload to start, with eleven games under their belt. Both teams needed a win heading into Friday, and through two periods, it looked like RHA Kelowna was in full control. They led 5-2 through forty minutes and scored four in the second period, giving North Shore an uphill climb to get anything out of the contest. Landen Gray (1G, 1A) extended RHAK’s lead early in the third, but North Shore wouldn’t make it easy down the stretch. The Warriors scored three in the third to get it close, thanks to their top guns; George Yoshino and Sawyer Shepard scored two goals apiece, but Luke Kochhlar (25/30) managed to shut the door at the end of the game to keep RHA Kelowna’s lead intact.

North Shore Warriors (4) vs BWC Academy (6) U18 Prep

BWC Academy have been one of the most potent and consistent teams in the U18 Prep division so far this season, winning the six games following an opening game loss to Edge School. In those four games, BWC hadn’t failed to score four or more goals in any of the six wins, a stat North Shore could also claim in their last three games. The Warriors had won three of their five heading into this weekend and stayed in the game throughout despite consistent pressure from BWC. At five-on-five, BWC dominated, but North Shore’s prowess on the powerplay kept them in the game. At the halfway point of the game, both teams had scored three goals apiece, with all three of North Shore’s coming on the man advantage. Unfortunately for the Warriors, BWC’s powerplay was also potent. They’d get two powerplay goals barely two minutes apart, with Charlie Robinson (2G, 1A) and Logan Lepinsky (3A) notching two powerplay points apiece in the game. Robinson and Lepinsky would connect again in the third, with Robinson’s second of the game sealing BWC’s eventual 6-4 win.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs OHA Edmonton (6) U15

The Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 squad came in having won five of six on the season to date, and through two periods, they had nothing to be ashamed of in their Friday afternoon matchup with OHA Edmonton. Max Holland (1G, 1A) and Kole Imlay (1G, 1A) scored to give OHA Edmonton a 2-0 lead, but Cohen Aquino’s goal for NAX pulled them within one. Come the second intermission, OHA Edmonton led 2-1, but NAX had outshot them 20-17. The game was by no means lopsided to then, but following, OHA Edmonton would blow it open. They’d score four in the third, with Wim Coderre (1G, 1A), Cohen Courchesne (1G, 1A), Marek Fetter (1G, 1A), and Damon Chinski (1G, 1A) all picking up goals in what ended up appearing to be an OHA Edmonton blowout, even though the game for some time was razor-thin.

Delta Hockey Academy (7) vs St. George’s School (4) U18 Prep

Last Saturday, Kishan Saggu scored twice for Delta Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep team in their 4-1 win over St. George’s School. That game was close throughout, but on Friday, Delta grabbed the lead and ran away with it early. The first twenty minutes of this hockey game did St. George’s no favours in the comeback effort they’d try to mount in the final forty, with DHA outshooting SGS 27-6 in the opening twenty minutes. Ryan Nicholson, Jack Morgan, Conor Nicholson, Peter Banicevic, and Kesler Curtis would score within nine minutes of each other for Delta, and the 5-0 lead they’d hold through one was an impossible deficit for SGS to make up. Louis Oscar Holowaychuk (1G, 1A) picked up a pair of points late in the third for St. George’s, but Delta ultimately held on for the 7-4 win.

BWC Academy (2) vs OHA Edmonton (7) U15 Prep

At the top of the U15 Prep standings this season, OHA Edmonton have had the lightest workload, with their four games the least anyone in the top ten had played. That doesn’t mean they haven’t had some success; OHA Edmonton reached the final of the Rebels Fall Classic of the beginning of the month, with big performances from their superstars inspiring confidence. OHAE’s big guns came to play against BWC Academy on Friday, as after Kenzo Gibson’s goal gave BWC a 1-0 lead, OHAE were ruthlessly efficient from there. Steven Leavitt (2G, 2A) and Micah Montgomery (2G, 1A) scored two goals apiece, with Montgomery’s first goal tying the game at one and Leavitt’s first standing as the game winner in OHA Edmonton’s eventual 7-2 victory.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6) vs Notre Dame Hounds (4) U15 Prep

The Notre Dame Hounds came into the weekend still waiting for this first victory of the season, but the RHA Kelowna side opposing them were also motivated to pick up a victory. RHAK suffered a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Delta Hockey Academy. The first period was all over the place. RHA Kelowna took a 1-0 lead, then Notre Dame turned it around to lead 2-1. RHA Kelowna responded with a pair of their own, but Notre Dame tied the game at three with under a minute to go. They’d take the lead back again 27 seconds into the second period, but unfortunately for the Hounds, Max Davis (31/35) wouldn’t give another goal up. Davis’ strong performance in between the pipes set RHAK up for the comeback, and a pair of quick goals late in the second for RHAK gave the game its fifth lead change. RHA Kelowna locked the door in the third period, scoring once more to extend their lead to 6-4 and secure the win.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (7) U15 Prep

Calgary International Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep played by far and bar none their most disappointing game this season on Sunday against the Northern Alberta Xtreme. Prior to that, they’d been an offensive force in every game they’d played, failing to score five or more goals just once in their ten previous games. Friday night saw CIHA get back in the win column, doing so emphatically as well. Kai Dingwall (1G, 3A) picked up four points, now bringing his streak to eleven straight games with a point to start the season. Dingwall has now scored 24 points in 11 games, and with Lucas Lavers (2G) and Owen Light (1G, 1A) also popping in with multi-point efforts in a big 7-1 win for Calgary IHA.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U17

Early in the first, PCHA and North Shore would split the scoring after Maximus Scheffer (2G) and Keegan Hole (1G, 1A) scored just a minute apart. Later in the frame, the Sea Devils would take control after Nixon Szadkowski (2G) broke the tie. Blake Bidney would strike soon after making things 3-1 for PCHA. A scoreless second would follow, but an early gal in the third sparked some life for North Shore as Noah Eade found the back of the net. However, PCHA would keep up the rampant pressure, outshooting NSW 23-7 in the final frame and tapping home another two goals for a 5-2 victory. Despite getting pulled late due to injury, Ben Boudreau (49/52) kept North Shore afloat, stopping 49 shots before heading to the dressing room. Leon Auburger (25/27) was credited with the win for the Sea Devils.

St. George’s School (3) vs STAR Hockey Academy (4/OT) U17 Prep

Adam Neilson (1G, 1A) claimed the early lead for STAR Hockey Academy, but a quick bounce back from St. George’s flipped the early script. Nathaniel Moore (1G, 1A) and Bradey Ching would put the Saints ahead with a pair of goals in less than a minute. In the second, STAR would come out revitalised, potting two early to once again shift them back into the lead. However, a late point shot from Tarik Lammam would tie this one in the second, creating a tie that would eventually need overtime as nobody could find twine in the third. The Saints would see an early opportunity in OT but could not stuff one past the pad of Erik Sims (18/21). Soon after on a fresh draw, Neilson would spot Kyler Bush making a break at the blueline. Bush would break in all alone before placing one past the Saints goalkeeper and clinching the victory for STAR.

OHA Edmonton (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) U18 Prep

Lethbridge Hurricanes prospect Liam McFadden (1G, 1A) would open the scoring early for OHA Edmonton off a sharp angled shot on the rush. Later in the frame, Spencer Kuntz would get one back for RHA Winnipeg, absolutely roofing a backhand off a strong cut to the middle. Scoring would slow down in the second as AJ Tarnowski (1G, 1A) scored the lone goal for OHA Edmonton, restoring their lead. It was more or less the same in the third as OHA Edmonton kept their grip on this contest, scoring another two to cement a 4-1 victory on RHA Winnipeg’s home turf. Cam Hoose (27/28) recorded the win in goal, posting a respectable 27 saves in the victory.

BWC Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (5) U17 Prep

RHA Kelowna’s powerplay was buzzing in the opening frame of Friday’s tilt with BWC Academy at the SOEC. Kaius Millan and Mason Poitras would be the benefactors in that opening period for RHA Kelowna. Kaustav Pradeep (2G) would net his first of the season early in the second for RHA Kelowna, and he was later followed up by Zander Zorn, establishing a 4-0 lead for RHA Kelowna. However, a quick response from Jaxen McFegan (2G) would turn some momentum into BWC Academy’s favour. It wasn’t until late in the third where McFegan and Ryan Fox would bring BWC Academy to within one in the final minute of play. However, Pradeep would bury the late empty netter, spoiling BWC Academy’s chance at a comeback.

King’s Edgehill School (1) vs CIH Academy (7) East U18 Prep

It was an all-out offensive showcase from CIH Academy over King’s Edgehill as they continue to demonstrate they’re not to be taken lightly as they improve their record to 4-0-0-0. The top line of Andrei Chumakov (1G, 3A), Ricky Deslauriers (1G, 3A) and Nikita Lozhenitsyn (2G, 1A) combined for 11-points in the 7-1 victory, including a couple fancy passing plays. Tucker Clare would close the scoring for CIH Academy with a solid solo effort around the keeper in tight. Dylan MacAvoy would score KES’s lone goal late, breaking Jayden Pierre’s (22/23) shutout bid.

Mount Academy (2) vs Bishop’s College School (12) East U17 Prep

Highlighted by a five goal, six-point outing from Cole Toms (5G, 1A) Bishop’s College School had no issues with Mount Academy in a Friday meetup. Alex Han (2G, 1A) and Elliott Correia (2G, 2A) would also each supply a pair of goals while Greyson Hnatiuk (3A) and Philippe Vachon (3A) would each supply three helpers. Mitchell Goodine and Cache Smith (1G, 1A) would score the lone goals for Mount Academy.

Edge School (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 Prep (1/OT)

Both goalies shined in this overtime thriller. Matthew Coyle (29/29) from Northern Alberta Xtreme with a 29 save shutout and Carsten Leyerzapf (33/34) from Edge School with 33 saves on 34 shots. Both teams had chances to go ahead with a total of 7 powerplays during regular time, but the only goal came off the blade of Ahmad Fayad, his fourth of the year, after 2:31 in overtime to win it.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (8) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep

Pacific Coast took control in the opening frame after allowing an early goal they scored five and never looked back. Owen Hyde (3G, 2A) shines in this win with a hat trick and 2 helpers. AJ Boyd (2G, 1A) and Kaelen Rusjan (2G) with a pair of goals each to complement a 39-shot game by the PCHA.  While, on the other side for Wenatchee, Keagan Nussbaum (2G, 1A) scores twice to try to get his team back but ultimately fall short.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (10) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep

Pilot Mound come out of the gate swinging with a 6-goal first period. Led by Brock Vodden’s hat trick and 6-point night (3G, 3A) with the help of Max Faulkner (2G) and Hinata Hashimoto (2G) who both potted 2 goals each. PMHA earn their first win of the season. Good effort by Cal McCall (3G) with a hat trick and Jason Thomson (3A) with a 3-assist night to try and bring Pacific Coast back. PCHA’s top goal scorer stays hot as Brayden Lindsay (1G, 1A) scores his team leading seventh goal of the season.

Shawnigan Lake School (0) vs North Shore Warriors (4) U15 Prep

After a long day of travel, the North Shore Warriors were finally able to claim their first win of the 2025/26 season in a 4-0 effort over Shawnigan Lake. Liam McMorran (2G) led the charge with his first two goals of the season while Quinn Herman (1G, 1A) and Jordan Klawer (1G, 1A) secured the other pair. Donovan Kuhn (7/7) made an easy seven saves for the shutout while Bryce Roache (48/52) stood on his head for 48 stops in the loss.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (7) vs Notre Dame Hounds (1) U18 Prep

Kutcher Aquila (4G, 1A) was not messing around once he stepped on to the ice tonight, securing four goals and an assist for a dominant five-point outing over Notre Dame. Aidan Poulin (3A_ would pick up three helpers in the win as well with Chase Neilson (22/23) making 22 stops. Kantawit Keen Tiaowvanich would score the lone goal for the Hounds.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (11) U15

Good team effort from OHA getting goals from Lance Bryant (1G, 1A), Levi Leitner (1G), Mack Host (1G) and Tappei Noguchi (1G). However, CDA scored seven straight and never looked back. The scary Jagger Clark (3G, 2A), Aden Bancarz (3G, 2A), TJ Podollan (1G, 6A) and Reed Witham (4A) came out to play on this Halloween night. Podollan recorded his 13th goal of the year and brought his assist total to 24, bringing his point total to 37 which is tied for the league lead with his teammate Witham who recorded his 34th, 35th, 36th and 37th points of the season, both above 3 points per game this season. While Aden Bancarz did well for himself as he led the charge with a hat trick and added two assists, all in the 7-goal push from his team. Let’s not forget Clark’s 5-point game including his league leading 21st goal that brough his point total to 36 on the season.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (9) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

PCHA (6-4-0) kept Wenatchee (0-12-0) winless on the season with an 9-3 win Friday night. Dawson Brown opened the scoring for Wenatchee with a power play marker 7:45 into the game. The Pacific Coast power play would begin to click that period with Roman Lavery (2G, 2A), Elliott Hill (2G, 1A) and Parson Shahi (3G, 2A) all striking on the man advantage. Ethan Naus, who scored 36 seconds after Lavery, and Aidan Yu traded even strength markers as a crazy first period ended with Pacific Coast up 4-2. Hill would increase the lead 32 seconds into the second before Drew Stinka and Lavery added two more PCHA power play markers just 6:06 into the middle frame. Special teams continued to be the story of the game as Anderson Carter found the back of the net for the second Wenatchee power play goal of the game, late in the second. PCHA would shut down any Wenatchee comeback in the third as Shahi scored twice to complete the hat-trick and secure the 9-3 victory.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) vs OHA Edmonton (7) U17

Tight matchup tonight between Northern Alberta Xtreme and OHA Edmonton. Although, one key difference was on OHA Edmonton as the duo of Hunter Jacobs (5G) and Liam MacMillan (4A) stole the show combining for 9 points.  Hunter Jacobs with and impressive 5-goal game to bring his season total to 8 and a 4-apple night from MacMillan to bring his impressive total to 16 assists on the year. Matthew Brown (2G, 1A) from NAX was able to score 2 goals while his teammate AJ Dutchnak (1G, 1A) gets his first of the year on a goalie, Eric Bichel (31/35), that had brought his A-game stopping 31 shots on the night.

Yale Hockey Academy (4) vs BWC Academy (7) U15

Mars Zhang (1G, 1A) opened the scoring by reaching double digit goals 11:21 into the first period. Emmett Rumbold (1G, 1A) evened the score 1:31 into the second with a power play marker and Max Nicholson put Yale ahead less than four minutes later. Cooper McBride (2G) tied the game at 2-2 midway through the second period, setting up for a hectic third. Alex Iaichkin (2G, 3A) restored the BWC Academy lead 13 seconds into the third before doubling it 30 seconds later. Gavin Bruinsma (1G, 1A) and McBride traded goals as it remained a two-goal difference with 15 minutes remaining. Sebastien Sibley would get Yale within one with 6:21 remaining, beating Lachlan Beatty (35/39) for his fifth of the season. Yale would mount a comeback attempt but empty net goals from Evan Kamoh and Sullivan
